For just as the sufferings of Christ are abundant for us, so also our consolation is abundant through Christ.

Pain and suffering are inevitable consequences of life. Where do we go for relief? Many have sought consolation in earthly things. Perhaps in the arms of a man or woman. Perhaps in the intoxicating effect of liquor or drugs. Perhaps through the denial of addictive behavior.

But true consolation is found through the Mediator of Consolation. Relief is spelled
J-E-S-U-S. He provides consolation that overflows to us. All other mediators of comfort bring only temporary relief. Jesus brings consolation that lasts forever. He is with us always. He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Through the mediation of Jesus, there is purpose to our afflictions. Through Jesus, there is comfort in the midst of our miseries. Through Jesus, there is abundant hope.
